Find
out all the symptoms of the acid reflux
disease.
Probably
only those who suffer from gastroesophageal acid
reflux disease or GERD can describe the plethora
of symptoms that acid reflex very kindly bestows
on them. The journey from simple indigestion to
GERD is not very long, save and except the fact
that indigestion is confined within the thick
stomach walls while acid reflux crosses the
periphery, reaching much higher goals like the
sinus cavities, creating sinus allergy symptoms
mirroring dizziness.
However,
the matter may not be that simple and therefore,
should be explained in detail. The food that we
eat or the beverages that we drink all go down to
the stomach through a tube called esophagus, at
the end of which there is a muscular one-way valve
or sphincter called the lower esophageal sphincter
or LES. The duty of the LES is to allow entry of
all that stuff into the stomach or else keep
totally shut. But destiny often plays
otherwise.
Due
to muscle fatigue or some other reasons that also
include pressure from excessive gas in the
stomach, the LES often fails to perform its duty
by opening up. This minor fault on part of the LES
causes major disruption in the GI tract when part
of the acidic stomach contents reflux (flow back)
into the esophagus.
Now,
the stomach acid (Hydrochloric acid) is quite
corrosive in nature and can damage or injure any
body part that is not protected against it. Though
it cannot harm its own home, i.e. the stomach
which is fully protected by thick lining of mucus,
it can nevertheless, create havoc in the esophagus
as the esophagus has no protective mucosa to save
it from the corrosive action of the fugitive
stomach acid that has flown into it. Now comes the
worst part of the whole story. The higher the acid
climbs up in the esophagus, more is the damage
done to it since the upper part of the esophagus
is more sensitive than its lower part. As the acid
touches those sensitive parts, it gives rise to a
burning sensation to the affected person who
screams that a fire is raging within the body near
the heart which is commonly but mistakenly called
"heartburn".
How
acid reflux causes
dizziness?
But
the ascent of the acid is not halted there. It
then starts affecting the larynx, causing
hoarseness due to damage to the voice box, reaches
the lungs, causing pneumonia and ultimately gets
into the sinus, causing sinus allergy symptoms
like dizziness, vertigo and related problems. So,
the answer to can acid reflux cause dizziness
could be a positive YES. Thus it can be said that
dizziness is yet another symptom of the acid
reflux problem.
The
best way to solve the problem is not by treating
dizziness, but by treating the main cause behind
it - that is acid reflux. Conventional remedies
fail in this respect, because they mostly try to
fight the symptoms of the disease. But holistic
remedies on the other hand, reach deeper into the
body and try to identify all the contributing
factors (acid reflux is complicated and can happen
due to many causes) of the disease. Once this can
be achieved, treatment is
easy.
This is why you must always
turn to holistic remedies when you are trying to
treat acid reflux and its symptoms such as
dizziness. Holistic remedies offer a better and a
quicker
treat.
